For most phones, standard tempered glass is the best value; choose privacy glass if you want to stop people reading your screen, and full glue or UV glass for curved screens. At Ezone Repairs in Nuneaton, standard and 10D glass are £9.99 and privacy, full glue and UV glass are £14.99, fitted in the shop.
The five kinds, side by side
| Type | What it’s for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Tempered glass | Clear glass with a 9H hardness rating, covering the flat part of the screen | £9.99 |
| 10D glass | Covers the screen edge to edge, with a black border | £9.99 |
| Privacy glass | Darkens the screen when it’s looked at from the side | £14.99 |
| Full glue glass | Adhesive across the whole glass, with a black border | £14.99 |
| UV glass | Liquid adhesive set with a UV lamp; follows curved screen edges | £14.99 |
Which one for your phone?
- Flat-screen iPhones and Samsungs: tempered glass or 10D.
- Want privacy on the bus or at work: privacy glass.
- Curved-edge screens: UV glass follows the curve best.
